Incense - Granular

With many forms of incense, granular is preferred by some due to the stronger aromas that can have more impact.  However, granular incense can also be more difficult to work with and may require specific tools or methods for burning. This type of incense is made of resins, which are hard and brittle substances extracted from trees or plants.

To burn granular incense, you will need a heat resistant container such as a charcoal burner or bowl filled with sand. The first step is to light a charcoal disk using matches or a lighter until it starts to spark and then place it in the container. Once the charcoal has turned gray and is glowing hot, use tongs to gently place small amounts of granular incense on top of it.

It's important to note that when working with granular incense, less is often more.
